Old-age : A Transit from the Bound to Boundless
Neglect – the most pathetic state a human being can ever have! Undoubtedly, wherever the surrounding is, nothing sustains beyond a simple action called care and love, which could get replaced. Old age is the state of surpassing or a Trans from the life to death. Nowadays out of the surge of modernization old people are literally getting crushed and neglected in every walk of life.

And finally they find the shelter, or they are forced to trash the rest of their life into that, and curiously await for the eternal fact called Death. It is a restless waiting, waiting to get free from the chains of world, the same world in which once they got obsessed and embraced as their own, and the same world that once they loved more than they, themselves ….their soul.
getting old is a lot better than not π

All your images are heart tugging and your photography heartfelt especially because some places in India like Cochin, Karnataka and Kerala are familiar to me.

I think it’s awful when old people are pushed off to the side while the young people go out and live their lives
Thanks Jannat π
“Thou hast nor youth nor age
But as it were an after dinner sleep
Dreaming of both.” The futility of the old folk and the hollowness & stillness of life around them are portrayed so vividly thro’ the visuals.
“Here I am, an old man in a dry month,
Being read to by a boy, waiting for rain.” Their minds wander backward, however, not upward and that’s just a world phenomenon now……we’re deserting them in deliberate forgetfulness…whether they sink into oblivion….or we lead them there…..let’s make their dark moments graceful and blessed…………..!!
Thanks a lot for such a poetic comment Arundhathi π

Thank you so much Mr. Chris π
You’re quite welcome!
That is so sad. Getting old should be a privilege especially since we do not know until when we could borrow our lives. But neglect makes it dreadful. Thanks for the reminder. We must at least not let this happen to the people close to us.
Lovely post RAna…
Thanks Veena π
Lovely post Ranadive. Growing old in is indeed scary!
Ranadive, I love your beautiful, soulful photos and your commentary. It’s sad that this phenomenon of our elders being ‘put away’ exists all over the world. I’m really enjoying your blog, and I would like to invite you to check mine out too!
Thanks Abena π I will do that for sure π
truly amazing pictures and great post!
Thanks Nisha π
A really interesting and important subject mater. And lovely photos too. The one with the mirror is really good.
Thanks Mr. Fernado π
The world moves and changes so fast these days, people think that the elderly are more of a burden than a resource. They don’t understand smart phones or Twitter, they aren’t up to date on the latest music or television shows. We are tempted to think that they don’t understand us at all. But they have something we don’t have. They can tell us out own future. Because they have lived it, and experience every emotion, every urge, every desire, and every disappointment. They may not know our world, but they know our souls.
Very true Daniel π thanks for that wonderful comment π
Hey Ranadive, these are some really great shots and the story behind them is sad but it’s great you are not letting it be forgotten.
I accept your invitation, btw π

*Sigh* Rane.. I feel really sad when I think about the old people who are left out at the dark corners of their last days of life.. π¦ Your post reminded me of a Malayalam proverb : ‘Pazhutha ila veezhumbo Pacha ila chirikkum!’.. All prayers for these souls.. π God bless You! π

“From bound to boundless”…elegant English phrase particularly when applied to the baby steps out of the world. There’s some major weather leather up there! And so go I…..
